Floral Designer – Mass Market

Quik’s Farm Ltd. is a wholesale cut flower grower based in Chilliwack, BC, with over 20 acres of indoor and an additional 20 acres of seasonal outdoor growing space. Quik’s Farm is geared towards the intense production of cut Chrysanthemums, Oriental Lilies, Alstroemeria, and other seasonal crops utilizing state-of-the-art growing systems and leading-edge technology to produce high quality products for our diverse customer base throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest USA.

This position offers you an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, fun-loving, and growing team! We are looking for a motivated Floral Designer attached to our Mass Market sales team to create trendsetting, highly marketable floral designs destined for grocery stores across the country. You will utilize your effective use of color and floral design to pre-plan attractive recipes to fulfill customer orders. As a highly creative individual, you will photograph your creations and put together stunning sales presentations.

To ensure success as a Floral Designer, you should possess a creative talent, a keen interest in highly qualitative floral products, and a great team-player attitude. As an outstanding team member, you will be someone whose keen attention to detail directly contributes to first class customer experience with Quik’s Farm products. This position reports directly to the Sales Manager.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create bouquet recipes and frameworks for individual mass market accounts based on sales forecasts and product availability expectations
  • Develop new product line ups and color palettes according to current floral design trends
  • Collaborate with Purchasing department to source appropriate fresh and dried goods that fit design trends
  • Routine physical check-in with Quality Assurance department to ensure accurate fulfilment and execution of mass market programs
  • Collaborate with Sales team on new initiatives, customer requirements, and specific promotional requests
  • Photograph floral creations and document recipes in alignment with required input costs
  • Create attractive sales presentations and catalogues using Canva, Photoshop, and PowerPoint
  • Stay updated with ongoing sales efforts, trends, and customer activity
  • Provide feedback to Sales and Marketing departments to effectively market floral products
  • Visit customer locations to follow up on retail level execution and report findings
  • Generate progress reports for internal and external customers
  • Performs other duties as required


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of floral design and color use trends
  • Creative, high level of innovation, open imagination, trend and design focused
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation, planning, delegation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Proficiency in office software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Education: Completion of Grade 12. Post secondary business admin certificate or degree will be considered an asset. Recognized floral design diploma or relative experience will be strongly considered a key asset.

 

  • Work Experience: Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a sales or marketing role. Experience in a cut floral company or further understanding of the floral business will be strongly considered a key asset.

 

  • Language: Must be fluent in English language.

  • Salary Range: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour based on experience

 

This position may require you to work on Saturdays and Statutory holidays. There will be no Sunday work.
