Office Secretary and Accounting Assistant

Quik’s Farm Ltd. is a wholesale cut flower grower based in Chilliwack, BC, with over 20 acres of indoor and an additional 35 acres of seasonal outdoor growing space. Quik’s Farm is geared towards the intense production of cut Chrysanthemums, Oriental Lilies, Alstroemeria, and other seasonal crops utilizing state-of-the-art growing systems and leading-edge technology to produce high quality products for our diverse customer base throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest USA. We are currently hiring an Office Secretary and Accounting Assistant. This position offers you an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, fun-loving, and growing team!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet clients and visitors creating a positive first impression.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of visitor arrivals.
  • Answer screen and transfer internal and external calls with professionalism.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and general correspondence.
  • Maintain organized filing systems (both electronic and physical).
  • Provide additional administrative and clerical support as required.
  • Providing support to the Accounting Department.
  • Manage data entry of Accounts Receivable.
  • Assist Accounts Payable in reviewing, sorting, and matching purchase orders.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable/Receivable filling system.
  • Handling communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person.

Qualifications

  • Formal education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (certificate, diploma, or degree) which results in strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Hands-on experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and follow-ups.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful and solve problems.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • A commercial mindset.
  • Experience working with horticulture or floriculture industries is an asset.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

 

Salary: $20.00-$23.00 per hour commensurate on experience.
