Floral Design & Fresh Inventory Assistant

Quik’s Farm Ltd. is a wholesale cut flower grower based in Chilliwack, BC, with over 20 acres of indoor and an additional 20 acres of seasonal outdoor growing space. Quik’s Farm is geared towards the intense production of cut Chrysanthemums, Oriental Lilies, Alstroemeria, and other seasonal crops utilizing state-of-the-art growing systems and leading-edge technology to produce high quality products for our diverse customer base throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest USA.

We are currently hiring a Floral Design & Fresh Inventory Assistant. This is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week position that includes benefits and competitive wages.  This position reports directly to the Lead Designer.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid time management and organizational skills.
• A keen eye for detail.
• A creative interest and talent in floral design.
• Experience working in horticulture or floriculture industries is an asset.
• Proficient in computer skills and use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to utilize mathematics and accounting skills at grade 12 or post-secondary level.
• Completion of high school and/or applicable post-secondary education.
• Please be advised that this hands-on position requires prolonged periods of standing.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating floral designs for mass reproduction, using available cooler inventory.
• Allocate inbound fresh products under the direction of various departments.
• Maintain rapidly revolving inventory in a highly organized and effective manner.
• Label products using a “First In, First Out” system.
• Inspect inbound fresh products for quality control compliance.
• Communicate all product quality concerns to the purchasing team.
• Assist in providing supervision for assigned Production teams.
• Assist in supervision of the Cooler team, providing directions for allocation of production orders.
• Assist in creating production orders from inbound sales orders.

Salary: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour
