Warehouse Assistant
Quik’s Farm Ltd. is a wholesale cut flower grower based in Chilliwack, BC, with over 20 acres of indoor and 20 acres of seasonal outdoor growing space. Quik’s Farm is geared towards the intense production of cut Chrysanthemums, Oriental Lilies, Alstroemeria, and other seasonal crops utilizing state-of-the-art growing systems and leading-edge technology to produce high quality products for our diverse customer base throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest USA.
We are currently seeking a motivated, dependable, and eager Warehouse Assistant to join our growing team. In this full-time role the Warehouse Assistant is responsible for processing, organizing and storing inventory in our facility. This position will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the storage of hard goods in an orderly and efficient manner
- Ensures that the warehouse area is clean, organized, and free of garbage
- Complies with workplace safety procedures and protocols
- Provides dependable, shift-long coverage of the warehouse facilities to ensure order fulfillment operates as efficiently as possible.
- Performance of data entry to ensure accurate inventory tracking
- Operates warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- A diploma in logistics or supply chain management would be considered a key asset
- Previous warehouse experience would be considered an asset
- A valid forklift license
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational, task prioritizing, and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires the use of computers, stand-alone ladders, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Scope of work involves physical labour in a warehouse setting, including mobility, bending, reaching above shoulder level, occasional lifting and carrying objects etc.
- Scanning equipment (e.g. bar code scanning equipment)
- Packaging tools (e.g. staplers, tape guns, strapping machines)
- Material handling equipment
Salary Range:
$18.00 to $22.00 per hour
This position may require you to work on Saturdays and statutory holidays. There will be no Sunday work.
